The AU "Roadmap" Must Be Rejected

It is being reported that the AU has worked out a "roadmap" for ceasefire in Libya. This roadmap must be rejected because the AU has no credibility in this matter. While many of the leaders who make up the AU are like Gaddafi, those who are not like him have been too compromised by their ties with him. They can therefore not come up with any significant solution to the problem in Libya. In fact, the only solution to the problem in Libya is for Gaddafi to leave. Period. Anything short of this is a failure for both Africa and NATO. Anything short of this must be rejected. Watch this.

Update: African Union roadmap rejected.

Gaddafi is a joke. The AU roadmap called for ceasefire and he agreed. Just as the rebels predicted, as it has been in the past, he was back at it the next day trying to take Misrata- firing missiles. The AU should have no part in this ordeal; they are only counties acting as 'cronies in common.' The AU delegation’s aim is to secure his leadership once more so their own is not put in danger due to the possibility of spreading uprisings. The AU should be using its power, which it has, to make him step down. I predict Gaddafi will eventually leave. The rebels are not so powerful, but they rejected the roadmap- meaning they are certain about their demands, and they continue to bite at the heels of Gadaffi (they are resolute to have democracy enacted). The US, UK and Italy are all calling for him to step down. The sympathy of most of the world is with the rebels and NATO is still bombing loyalist forces. The way other situations are looking in the surrounding Northern African countries- he cannot continue to reign for long...but no doubt, he will fight until the end- he is a stubborn man.
