Blaise Compaore has ruled the tiny and imporverished country of Burkina Faso since he killed his friend, the popular Thomas Sankara, over twenty years ago. Now the army of the country appears to want his own head. Developing . . . .
I can only imagine what Burkina Faso would be today if Thomas Sankara were to remain in power. Honestly, whatever happens to Blaise Compaore at this point, I don't care. He killed his friend to be in power, and then wrecked the country. As far as I'm concerned he is not a good person. What comes around goes around, so I hope he doesn't think he will remain untouchable after going around murdering people and misruling.
After learning so much about Thomas Sankara in class I am interested to see how this plays out. It seems that there is wave going through Africa now where the people are beginning to fight for a voice against unworthy rulers
