As soon as I saw this picture I thought of how it contrasts with some of the pictures drawn by children in Uganda in the Invisible Children film. The pictures drawn by the Ugandan children depicted gruesome war, but it's encouraging to see that children in Ivory Coast are campaigning against it. They are not glorifying war and not willing to accept it as as a fact of life.

most of the time, when discussing war in Africa we focus on the political leaders, counter- groups, and economic plights, but this picture reminds us that everywhere war is is taking place, there are individuals being affected. It is compelling to see kids coming together and fighting for a cause in a positive, hopeful way.
