Paul Biya in Fraud Charge
Cameroon's President for 28 years, Paul Biya, is denying charges of embezzlement of public funds brought against him in France by some Cameroonians in the Diaspora. One of the best services that can be done for Cameroon is that this case be properly investigated. Considering France's shady relations with French African countries, especially Cameroon (Paul Biya once called himself the best pupil of former French President Francois Mitterrand), it is not clear that such investigation will be conducted.

It is very easy to develop theories which harbour no credible fact. We all know that the charge filed against Biya in Paris, relies on no tangible proof. No charge can be sustained with cuts or photocopies of news paper articles. Being a student of such and such does not mean we are the pay of foreign powers. Some are inspired by Machiavel, Kant, De Gaulle….We all know that this charge will have a vain outcome due to lack of proof, and not as a result of complicity or political backup by France.
It is not easy for someone to come up with such charges if there is no backup. Evidences can be provided just that the system itself is malfunctioning and the investigation can't go through.
We cannot file-in a charge against someone, in a court of justice we don’t trust. Let’s patiently wait for the results of the French justice. But I want to point out here that these charges are so meaningless that they rely on no credible fact. We file-in charges on gossips just to discredit President Biya, it is shameful when we know it comes from a compatriot except he is blinded by his thirst for power as he stands as candidate for presidential elections.
Absolutely. this claim rests on nothing. it is part of an advertising campaign of the author of the complaint, and a campaign of defamation and denigration against the head of state of Cameroon.
I have not brought a charge against Paul Biya but have merely commented on one that has been brought against him in France. However, those who are on his payroll and who are scared that his days may be numbered are now prowling the internet to defend Paul Biya in all ways possible. That Paul Biya has stolen money from Cameroon may be theoretical but it is a theory that can be investigated. The first place to start is to ask Biya to declare how much the state of Cameroon pays him in a month or year. How come that Cameroonians do not know how much Biya is paid? As a public servant who holds such a sensitive public office, he needs to declare his assets. But because he thinks that he is against the law, he has completely failed to do so. If Paul Biya has nothing to hide he should declare his assets. Those who believe that no credible case can be brought against him will then have the chance to make a good case.
I am still surprised that some people still doubt the fact that president Biya has embezzled and syphoned state money when he uses the state coffers to run even his political party activities besides numerous trips abraod with very large delegations. Why is it that the same people who accused some of the ministers he put jail were not termed as fake but become fake only when the patron himself is involved? Let a credible court be set up and proper investigations made and the whole world will be shocked just as we are shocked by Ben Ali's wealth. Shine your eyes. Uncle Ben. Talah
