This reminds me of the case in Uganda where suddenly Americans were up in arms over how fiercely the government handled homosexual acts. Yes, the planets biodiversity is in dire peril, but Tanzania is not the first country to take a step towards economic development despite the ecological consequences. How can we demand so much from the poorest among us, while the first world's contribution towards ecological prosperity is almost pure detriment?
