African Presidents Should Be Ashamed To Go Abroad For Medical Treatment

The recent death of the president of Malawi in South Africa has led to reflections on whether presidents should be embarrassed to go abroad for medical treatment. Malawi's president suffered a heart attack and was flown to South Africa where he died. If he had worked to develop the medical system in his own country, perhaps he could have been treated at home rather than being flown to a foreign country.
